Local Community Organizations Receive Grants from League of Women Voters Honolulu Education Fund

(January 22, 2022) — The League of Women Voters of Honolulu Education Fund (LWVHEF) allotted nearly $25,000 in grants to Oahu nonprofit organizations for the second grant cycle of 2021. The recipients receiving grants are: 808 Cleanups’ Adopt a site Program ($5,000), The Pantry by Feeding Hawaii Together’s Building Resilience for Food Insecure Female-Led Households ($5,000), Better Block Hawaii’s Kalihi Community Sharing Spaces ($5,000), Digital Moku’s Kokuaneeded.com ($4835) and Beta Beta Gamma Foundation’s MoveMe Hawaii Filipino Veterans History Project ($5,000).

“The League of Women Voters of Honolulu Education Fund organization will have distributed a total of $79,835 in grants to local Oahu nonprofit organizations and programs for the Fiscal Year 2021/2022,“ said Elizabeth Reilly, president of the LWVHEF board of directors.

“We are encouraging Oahu charities who may need a financial boost for programs, and that meet the criteria, to apply for the upcoming grant cycle starting February first“.

Funding is currently available to Oahu 501c3 nonprofit organizations through the League of Women Voters Honolulu Education Fund (LWVHEF: https://lwvedfund.org). The grant-making organization is actively seeking submissions to fund nonprofit projects and activities for the first half of 2022. Applications for this grant cycle are due between February 15 and March 31, 2022.

The general criteria for qualified applications includes: projects and activities that enhance and improve the general welfare of the people of Oahu, protect its natural environment, and implement plans to maintain or improve the quality of life of its citizens.
